End of Year Run 2010

Every year I take a little drive, to clear my head and have fun with my trusty little hot rod.
This year I took the famous Mulholland Drive in Hollywood CA and ended up at the Hollywood Bowl.

the DRAGGERS - a hotrod roadmovie

As a Swiss/German guy,  living in Los Angeles, videos like this make me proud. These guys are doing it, living their own dream, taking care of business and not giving a shit, I can admire that.
Here is a video of the German based (Munich) car club, the Draggers.

The loss of a dreamcar

The 57 Thunderbird had always been my wife Gloria's dream car of all times, ever since she was a little girl.
Finally in 2008 her dream came true and we found the perfect car, even the color was right "BLACK".
We enjoyed many trouble free miles together.
Sadly, the T-bird was stolen in October 2010 from our house in Hollywood CA, and was never recovered.
One month after the theft, I was asked, by the insurance company, to send in, the title, to finalize the paperwork.
We will never see "Stella" as she called the car, again.

Jack Calori's 1936 Ford three window coupe, custom

I get obsessed with certain cars from time to time, but this specific vehicle, to me, is one of the greatest american custom cars ever built.

Ventura Nationals 2010

The first annual Ventura Nationals car show was held at the Ventura CA fairgrounds, just steps away from the Pacific ocean.
With all the palm trees, this is as Californian as it gets.

Bugatti Veyron

I'm into old cars, cars that look good, cars that have soul, but there is one "new" car that I would love to own, even thou, thats probably never going to happen, at a 1.6 million dollar price tag.
The Bugatti Veyron, works for me.
Of course I'd put 1940 Ford wheels on it and use Firestone bias-ply tires.

The Noguchi Table

Los Angeles born Japanes/American sculptor and furniture designer Isamo Noguchi had many notable designs but his most famous and in my opinion best furniture piece is the Noguchi coffee table, just timeless and beautiful.

Charles and Ray Eames

If you are thinking about cool mid century modern furniture, the name Eames must come to mind, this husband and wife team have done some amazing work, even getting into airplane hull fabrication with their revolutionary bent plywood designs. These techniques are still being used to this day by furniture makers all around the world.
Everybody should own an Eames chair.
